Nice Photos with little content.

Nice photos but Little content to actually plan by. Each entry gets maybe 3 pages. one or both have Striking photo. There isn’t a synopsis of; Best time to visit, Area’s highlights, Closest airport and travel options, Lodging choices.... Suggest instead, Your Guide to The National Parks by Michael Oswald. It had e v e r y t h i n g one needs to plan well.

Nice book on the national parks

I purchased 3 national park books, liked this one the best. Good for if you generally know what you'd like to do while vacationing or things you'd like to see, but need more ideas on what places would be a good match given your interests. Then once you pick one or some to go to, might work well to get a book just on those places, to get more detail for planning purposes.

Vibrant colors, a must have!

I purchased this for my folks. They've just retired and are taking their fifthwheel for months at a time. The pictures are stunning and the information is priceless. Amazing as a gift or keep it for yourself, you won't regret it.

Good starting point but lacks details

This book gives great starting points to get ideas about where you may want to visit on your next vacation. There are lots of ideas and beautiful pictures. I was a bit disappointed about the "when to go" aspect. I was expecting details like when to go in relation to seasons (to see fall colors, spring flowers, avoid snow or extreme temperatures) and when the busy times/less busy times of the year. Regardless, as I mention it is a good starting point to get ideas about where to go. From there, you always have Google...

Great for Planning Road Trips

Great for planning road trips. and/or putting park visits on bucket list. Gives you general synopsis and description of various parks with full color photos. Basic layout of each location are as follows: -Gives brief description, then goes in depth on what you can expect. -'Big picture' section: includes date established, size, annual visitors, visitor centers, entrance fee and website. -'Did you know' section: random trivia about the site -'Lay your head', 'meet the neighbors', 'event horizon', 'chow down' section: These are basically the 5,000 ideas* part of the book. Gives suggestions on nearby resorts, landmarks/historical sites, restaurants, hotel/lodges, festivals and wildlife refuge. Not all sections are presented in each park mentioned, maybe 1 or two from the list *There are also top 10 lists sprinkled in to switch up the pace -Around half a dozen photos of each park You can get more information online about each park, but this book if fun to flip through and gives you a brief glance of famous parks. If anything will make a great coffee table book for guests and/or customers

Beautiful book, with lots of content and stunning images

Perfect coffee table book, great to day-dream about the next destination. It's 10x10 so it's not large, but it's a great addition to our living room. Great content, glossy pages.

Very nice book

Beautiful book awesome facts. We gave it as a gift and was received with so much love

It's worth it

Relevant, well written, beautiful photos.

Chock full of info!

We love this book. You can find information online about parks, but sometimes I need a break from the internet. It's nice to sit down and flip through a book. We keep this in our RV so it's on hand as we travel around the country. I'm really glad that they included maps of the US and Canada which show the actual location of each park. Some of their other books, like 100 Drives 5000 ideas, do not include maps. It's helpful that the Information about each park includes ideas for different seasons. That way you can focus on activities during the time of year when you're at the park. One pet peeve, which is probably just me - They didn't need to include so many photos of animals and flowers (here's a sleeping white tail deer or a baby opossum hanging from his tail). Instead they could have included additional pictures more relevant to the activities at/near the park or scenery of the park.

Nice pictures but not very useful

I was hoping to use this book to help planning a camping road trip. It is way to general and I don"t like how it is organized. Really not useful for anything other than perusing and looking at photos.
