Beneath The Truth
I used to believe there were lines in life you don't cross.
Don't lie. Don't cheat. Don't steal.
Until I learned people don't always practice what they preach.
I turned in my badge and gun and walked away from everything.
Then I got the call no one wants, and I’m back in New Orleans.
What I don't expect is for her to be here too.
Another line you don’t cross?
Don't touch your best friend’s little sister.
She's always been off-limits.
Too bad I don't follow the rules anymore.
Beneath The Truth is the final book in the Beneath series, but each of these hot contemporary romances can be enjoyed as a stand-alone. Then again, why would you want to miss out on all the alpha heroes and the women who bring them to their knees? After all, there's something for everyone in New Orleans...

love happened, children happened
I was always a reader but then life happened, love happened, children happened, so on an so forth. My reading spark dulled over time and I eventually lost it. Fast forward a lot of years. I was thrown head first into the romance/erotica world in February of 2015 and have never looked back since. I will admit, I hit a couple of slumps along the way but always remained focused on keeping this spark going. When Meghan March was suggested as a recommended author, the cover of Beneath this Mask caught me hook, line and sinker. I fell in love with her words, the characters, Meghan herself....just everything. New Orleans is now a bucket list item for me because of Meghan. It's all her fault. This series, Mask especially, has a very special place in my heart. With that said, I am a glass case of emotion right now. I'm truly overwhelmed in THE best way. I told myself, I said, "Self. You WILL take your time. You will NOT rush. You will NOT devour. Take. Your. Time." And I did, uuuuunnntil I hit the 50% mark and then I lost all sorts of control to this book and the soul consuming characters. I didn't devour this book....nope. This book devoured me. Can you read these as standalones? Absolutely, BUT I HIGHLY recommend you start from the beginning. That's just me and you're damn right I plan on starting from the beginning...again. Meghan knows how to story and does it well. The progression of her work is very apparent with each of these books. Not only have I grown more and more in love with each book, so has Meghan and her writing. She's beyond passionate about what she does and you can feel that in each of her characters. I'd pay good money to live in her head for a day, seriously. She keeps me on my toes and I've given up trying to figure things out within the books because I'm ALWAYS wrong. Lots of things go over my head but you'd think by now, after being an avid reader of her books, I'd kinda know what to expect from her work. NOPE. On. My. Toes. That should say something about her writing right there. It's always different and refreshing. Speaking of them...I'm so in love with Rhett and Ariel. I literally have no evens to cannot. I refuse to give anything away, but what I will say is that I guarantee this book will have you laughing, gasping and maybe even crying. Then again I cry at EVERYTHING, so there's that. Do yourself a solid. If you haven't picked up a book by Meghan, go click now. You won't be sorry. I can promise you that. Each of her books, including this one is filled with one main intent and that's love, good ol' unconditional love. Well, alpha males too but mainly love. *Wink* 5 likes
But it has and as sad as I am to see this amazing series end
I had always hoped this day would really never come. But it has and as sad as I am to see this amazing series end, I am just amazed and in awe of this book, Rhett Hennessy's, the last in the Beneath series. If you haven't started this series yet it's ok, you can still read this book. But if you want to find yourself in one of the most amazing cities with some amazing characters I recommend starting from the beginning, you'll be hooked on page one of Beneath this Mask! Now we find our former Detective Rhett Hennessy is being forced back to NOLA due to some tragic circumstances. And as much as he wants to get out of town as fast as possible, he needs the find done some truths before that can happen. So sticking around means he is forced to see the girl next door that he grew up with, his best friends sister, Ariel Sampson. Pretty soon getting Beneath the Truth is happening in his family and with Ariel. Enjoy this amazing final book in one of the best series I have ever read. Thank you Meghan March for giving me some amazing times in a city I love with this gang that I will never forget. And thank you for the perfect ending, I really couldn't have asked for anything more xx.
I LOVED this book!!!
Take a bow, Meghan March. That is how you conclude a series. I absolutely LOVED Beneath the Truth. The seventh and final book (*tear) in the brilliant Beneath series, was nothing short of astonishing. A super sexy, suspenseful and addicting read with twist and surprises that held me captive the entire time. In true Meghan March fashion, she provides the heat with with her outstanding characters. Rhett Hennessy and Ariel Sampson share a connection that can't be measured. They are smokin' hot together. The forbidden factor - Ariel is Rhett's best friend's little sister - brought a delicious element to the story. I can't get enough of this book! I was so excited to finally have Rhett Hennessy's story. If you've read the previous books, (Beneath the Truth can 100% be read as a standalone.) you know Detective Rhett Hennessy was hit with jarring news that caused him to turn in his badge and walk away from everything he's always known and believed in. In Beneath the Truth, a year later, an unexpected and painful event has him back and seeking answers. Meghan March kicked up the swoon factor with Rhett Hennessy. I've always had a soft spot for Rhett. This book has transformed that soft spot into a full force intense mega crush. I don't think it's possible for me to love him any more than I do right now. Who wouldn't love a sexy, determined, protective alpha. Damn you, Ariel. You lucky lucky woman. Speaking of of Ariel. She is no slouch herself. I love a strong female character and Ari Sampson fits that description to a T. Incredibly smart. Very successful. Super sassy. She can hold her own. LOVE it! You can understand why Rhett would be so taken by her. My favorite thing about most of Meghan March's books are the elements of mystery and suspense she creates. I swear one second you're convinced you know how everything will turn out. Then something happens that catches you off guard and you're dying to find out what happens next. Beneath the Truth had some turns that had me audibly gasping "what?!" and "No!" God. I love this book so much! I am a ginormous fan of the Beneath series. So I'm a little bummed that it is coming to an end. I'm not ready to say goodbye to these amazing characters. That being said, Meghan March knocked it out of the park with Beneath the Truth. I could have easily read it in one siting but I had to force myself to slow down and appreciate what amazing job she. She gave this series the ending it deserved. My goodness! That epilogue alone is perfection. Trust me you are not going to want to miss this one. It so damn good!
Hennessy!!!!
To be quite honest, I approached this book with a fair amount of trepidation. Putting my cards on the table, I LOVED LOVED LOVED every single book in the series to this point and had a soft spot for Detective Rhett Hennessy as he was throughout most of those books. So, knowing that this was to be the last book in the series, and that it was Rhett's book, I had really high hopes, and was worried that the book wouldn't live up to them. With that in mind, the opening chapters of the book took me somewhat by surprise. Not because of what was in them, but because of what wasn't. Ex-Detective Hennessy has been absent from New Orleans for the last year, taking off for parts unknown after it came out that his own father was a dirty cop and had allowed Rhett's older brother, fallen in the line of duty, to be his scapegoat. Now, after that same father is killed in suspicious circumstances, Rhett once again has more questions than answers, but this time he doesn't have a badge to back him up, nor the respect of his (former) fellow officers who view his whole family as tainted. So the thing that threw me? It's not that there isn't any mystery, or any drama as Rhett's best friend's little sister, also his teenage crush re-enters his life, nor that there isn't a hint of danger surrounding Ariel. Unlike the other books in the series though, the first part of the book isn't suffused with a sense of impending doom. By contrast, as Rhett and Ariel become reacquainted, things are light, pleasant, awkward and comical, all in a good way, just not at all what I was expecting. Living up to the rest of the series though, things manage to get very very complicated and Meghan March doesn't fail to deliver with all the angst, tension, drama, intrigue and no small amount of sizzle that her readers have come to expect. In the end, despite my early misgivings, I think it might just be my favorite book of hers yet, and for readers who have followed the series all the way through, the epilogue was a beautifully special treat
Oh, Rhett!
That epilogue killed me! But until I get to the epilogue, let me start with the beginning of the story. We've met and known Rhett Hennessy from pretty much the beginning of the Beneath series. I, for one, fell so hard in love with him, I was eager for him to get his HEA. With every book that was written and published, I kept hoping it was Rhett's story being told, but nope, the others had to come first. Ms. March left the good for last. Rhett's an honorable man. That's the way he and his brothers - oh, those Hennessy men! - were raised. With honor and integrity. Their dad, along with two Hennessy guys were cops and detectives. If that doesn't say honor and integrity, I don't know what does. But as we all know, it was just an illusion and it all went boom, making Hennessy up and leave NOLA behind. I didn't blame him. As much as it hurt to have him suffer, I got it. But he had to come back because the past was restless. Things weren't adding up. I think Ms. March has gotten a taste for romantic suspense and action-packed books ever since publishing Take Me Back, because Beneath the Truth was exactly that. I mean we had some action, here and there, throughout the series, but this one? Explosive. It has so many feels! I cried happy tears, sad ones, I laughed, I melted and fanned myself. In other words, it was so very good and I'm going back to that epilogue, that made me cry like a baby. I could barely see the words, I was crying so hard. Read this book, read the series, don't miss out on an awesome series. I am going to miss these guys, but this was the best closure ever for all of them. The books shall be reread many times. 5 ++++ stars. I voluntarily agreed to read an early copy of this book.
Fantastic ending to an Amazing series
I absolutely loved this story. I've fallen in love with plenty of Meghan March's heros before, and Hennessy definitely stole my heart, but never have I loved a heroine as much as I do Ari. I love a strong heroine, and all of this author's heroines are strong. But Ari was not only strong, she was funny, nerdy, brilliant, and gorgeous to boot. I loved the banter she shared with Erik and Esme. I loved how she lacked a filter and said whatever came to mind. And I loved that she was a CEO of a huge company, and that she did it all on her own. I loved the glimpse of Hennessy that I got to see in Beneath these Lies, and I missed seeing him in Beneath the Shadows. It was great to see him finally get the girl - and one that was so perfect for him at that. I loved that, although Ari had a thing for him since childhood, he hadn't exactly been oblivious of her like she thought. The Truth that they searched for together could have torn them apart, but in the end they found strength to get through it all. My heart was racing so much during this book, and I was continually on the edge of my seat as the suspense kicked up notch after notch. This is the seventh book in this series, and it's sad to see one of my favorite series come to an end. The epilogue was so wonderful I was nearly in tears. I wish this series could go on forever, because I don't think I'll ever get enough of these amazing characters. I can only hope they'll continue to pop up in future books.
Rhett & Ari
MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS - Like all of the other NOLA couples I fell for Rhett & Ariel. Rhett left for over a year, embarrassed by the rumors of his dad & his brother being dirty cops. Now he's back for his father's funeral & to deal with his childhood home blown to bit! Ari is back after years away in California building her business into a huge success & although her financial situation has changed, she is the same redheaded beauty Rhett had the hots for even though she was off-limits. While Ari believed her fantasy crush was one-sided, Rhett finally admits he noticed everything about her but he had respect for her brother & tried to keep his distance...until now. There is a lot of danger & intrigue in this story as Rhett tries to solve the case of his father's death & Ari is all of a sudden be threatened by an old boyfriend. Rhett & Ari were Team Awesome which was so cute - he had excelled at finding missing persons & she used her hacking skills to work to their advantage. Another thing I loved about this series, the shades of grey, no one was totally good or completely bad & they did what they needed to do to keep their lovers safe. We learn who Lachlan Mount is and I can't wait for the new series!
Gahhhh How is this the end of the series?!!?!?
How do I begin to describe the feelings I got with this book showing up on my kindle, I had heart palpitations of the excitement and sadness of the series coming to an end. Rhett's story was something I've been waiting on for years how have three an a half years flown by I feel emotionally invested in every character of the Beneath series. Seriously I feel like I'm saying goodbye to friends, I'm crying (I might be a bit dramatic lol). I can tell you this is one of the few times I have been utterly shocked by a characters actions that I felt like I got slapped in the face. Ariel and Rhett are gah!! I can't with them, they might just be my favorite Beneath couples, seriously shhh don't tell Lucas. I want to talk about all the things that happen in this book, between Rhett and Ariel EVERYTHING!! But I won't because you need to find out for yourself what a prefect ending to this series Beneath the Truth is. The emotional ride you will go through will be one of the best things to happen to you. So forth and read! This is a standalone and can be read as such but seriously do yourself a favor and start at the beginning with Beneath this Mask, and if you've never read a Meghan March book this is the series for you and you don't have to wait for the next book in the series because they are all out. This has been the best 3 and a half years of reading this series and the best conclusion.
Couldn't Get Enough!
This series was totally captivating. I'm so glad I purchased it. From Simon and Charlie to Rhett and Ariel . . . I waited until this last book to post a review. I even went back and read some pages again, ssooo good. With the exception of Vanessa being pregnant in "... Ink", but in no other book nor the absolutely awesome epilogue for each couple in " . . . Truth ". This was one of the greatest series of books I've read and purchased. It was well written and I am so glad to see that the characters will be in other books. I.e. Ruthless King (hopefully); which is my next read; excited . . . Yes I am. ;-) I will also add that my favorite character was Lucas "f'ing" Titan. Lol. Totally loved all the characters but his was perfect, loved the strong, unapologetic attitude. Fierceness and all out sexy Alpha behavior. Yes I am an Alpha lover, 100%, especially since I have had my own for over 28 years now. Thanks MM, keep up the awesome work. Reading some intros to some of your other books . . . Let's just say you may be one of my favorite authors. (A hundred thumbs up)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hands down a GREAT F'ing read! 🙌🏻
This ain't your average review! 🤷🏻♀️ I can't help but express how I feel about the author and the book all scrambled together! This series is amazing! You can definitely read this as a standalone, but I beg you to read the preceding books before this one! Trust me when I say these 7 books are worth it! Hands down #ONECLICK TODAY! Wow wow wow 😱 I can't believe it's over! 😩😫 Spectacular end to an AMAZING series! ❤️ I read Beneath this Mask and Beneath this Ink over a year or 2 ago after falling in love with Meghan's Dirty Billionaire series. I didn't mean to put off the rest of the series for so long. Not sure why, I just kept putting it aside. With Beneath the Truth releasing I decided I was on a mission to Rhett. I started on the 27th of July and today I have just finished EVERYTHING! I feel like I just lost of piece of me! I don't want this to end!!! That epilogue was LIFE! It gave me a piece of these characters that I needed! I can't believe it's really over! 😭 Meghan you rock my literary world! 🙌🏻 You are amazing! The stories, the characters, the love, the ALPHAS, the ladies, the setting, EVERYTHING! You SLAY me everytime! This may be the 'end' of the Beneath series, but definitely the beginning of something wickedly awesome! I can't wait to see what the future has in store for us! Mount is looking like he is going to blow our world apart! I hope some characters are sprinkled in here and there!! 😜 jkjk You do you Meghan and give us all the words!
